Rolla’s geographical location near the International Peace Garden and eastern edge of the Turtle Mountains, as well as close proximity of a U.S. Border Port of Entry, provides a tourism opportunity.  There is ample camping, fishing, biking, horseback riding, photography, hunting, birding, etc. 

 

Rolla is currently ranked as the 33rd among population in North Dakota.  According to the 2000 census, the city’s population stands at 1417.  The median age for Rolette County is 29 years old.  There are approximately 400 single and duplex residential units and over 110 units of multi-family residential housing, not including mobile homes.  Park View Assisted Living provides 29 units.  Sale price of homes is competitive with the current market.  The city of Rolla provides participating lenders for home buying with first time home buyers and VA.
